How Can severe Diarrhoea And Vomiting Be Treated?

over last 2 weeks I ve been having episodes of vomiting and diarrhea that last for 3-4 hours. This has happened where I will get ill for 2 days in a row then may be fine for 2 or 3 days. no real pain in side or back and no fever. may have been exposed to stomach flu virus but was concerned that may be gall bladder even though no pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
I dont hink this is related to gallbladder issues since diarrheas are not common sign of this. I believe that there may be parasitic infection since such cyclic manifestation is typical for some parasites such as ascaris. Other causes include inflammatory bowel diseases. You should drink plenty of fluids ti replace fluids loss and have easier diet. Also, you need to do stool microbiological test to rule out enterocolitis and parasitic infections. At the end, if there is no diagnosis, colonoscopy should be considered. Gallbladder is usually manifested with pain in upper right abdomen so this is not likely to be.
Wish you good health. Kindly regards
